June 14th

1) Social Studies

Grade 4's - Grade four students have to complete their rough drafts of their legends. These legends are going to go on their maps of

Ontario. In the small box at the top of their rough draft pages they should have a title that represents what's being shown in their legend. In the middle box, students should be creating a legend that will show what the different objects and colours on their maps represents.

Finally, in the lined box at the bottom of the page, students should be writing out what they've learned about all the different land regions in Ontario. Students should be using their duotangs and background knowledge to complete this section.

We brainstormed the following ideas to go into the bottom box in our legends.

For each land region we should:

1) describe the physical characteristics of the land region
2) describe the size and location of the land region
3) tell what the weather and climate might be like
4) describe what kind of trees grown in the regions or what other plant or animal life might be there
5) Describe what industries or or resources are in each land region

2) Bike safety program this Thursday
